Love and Care Centre provides daily care and education to 215 children in Masiphumelele near Cape Town, South Africa. It was established in 2003 by women for women and their children to ensure no child would be hungry in this community. Unemployment is extremely high and there is little economical sustainability for families.
Aurelia Kaitesi is the founder and principal. She personally supervised the building of the centre on Masemola street. Many families cannot afford basic school fees, and the centre depends on donations to provide two meals a day, resources for education and care, staff salaries etc. She and her staff welcome visitors.
